Super Eagles captain and previous Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel disclosed why he acknowledged to move to Chinese Premier League to collaborate with Tianjin Teda. He said it was done to help Nigeria's push to be at the 2018 World Cup in Brazil.

Mikel had been fundamentally censured from playing with the primary group by Chelsea Coach, Antonio Conte, yet regardless he remained a general for the national group

So he chose to move to Tianjin Teda on a three year bargain with the goal that he could make them play time.

Mikel said amid a meeting with Owngoalnigeria.com:

"I could undoubtedly have remained in Chelsea for the staying six months of my agreement however it won't be to the greatest advantage of my country, as they need me coordinate fit when the World Cup 2018 qualifiers continue".

"It wasn't a simple choice to make yet I truly require matches to remain fit for Nigeria. Nigerians don't should pass up a great opportunity of the World Cup after consecutive inability to meet all requirements for the Africa Cup of Nations".

Including that he didn't do it for the cash despite the fact that his momentum paycheck is twofold what he made at Chelsea.
